Visitation for Antoinette M. Benoit, 100, of Bourbonnais, will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Rev. Charles Wheeler will officiate.
Burial will be in Maternity BVM Cemetery, Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to Faith Place Alzheimer's Unit. She died Friday (April 14, 2006) at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.
Mrs. Benoit was a teacher at several country schools. She was born June 20, 1905, in St. Anne, the daughter of George and Arcelia Cyrier Morrissette. Her husband, Homer Benoit, whom she married June 12, 1929, died in 1968. She graduated from St. Joseph Seminary, was very active in her religion and in starting many living rosaries. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Anne Sodality, Women of the Moose for 30 years, Womens Auxiliary of the Kankakee American Legion and a retired teacher.
