Lillian Jane Rose - Momence


Visitation for L. Jane Rose, 80, of Momence, will be from 1 p.m. Sunday until the 3 p.m. memorial service at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence. The Rev. Scott Vaughn will officiate. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the Momence Food Pantry. She died Wednesday (Feb. 29, 2012) at her residence.

Mrs. Rose was a homemaker, a timekeeper at VM Corporation, Michigan and a cook at Momence Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 20, 1931, in Benton Harbor, Mich., the daughter of Max and Katherine Wertz Naumann. She was a member of Calvary Community Church. She was a Cub Scout den leader and volunteered at the Momence Food Pantry. She enjoyed doing macrame, cross-stitching, needlework and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Jack D. Rose, of Momence, whom she married Aug. 10, 1952, in Benton Harbor, Mich.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Lehman, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Pam and Larry Hunte, of Momence, and Sara and Darryl Boatman, of Watseka; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Angela Rose, of Kyle, Texas; one self-adopted son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Thelma Ostrow, of Momence; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson; one sister, Dorothea Pierson, of Michigan; and one brother, Benny Naumann, of Benton Harbor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
