Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's research. She died Wednesday (Feb. 22, 2012) at St. James Manor and Villas in Crete.
Mrs. Gamblin worked in the law department at the Illinois Central Railroad. She was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., the daughter of Delbert and Virginia Lewis Anderson. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, Country Club Hills. She loved sewing, reading and traveling.
Surviving are her husband, Norman Gamblin, of Manteno, whom she married Oct. 5, 1957, in Central City, Ky.; two daughters, Deborah Jones and her fiancé, Mike Bell, of Homewood, and Sarah Gamblin, of Tinley Park; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James Anderson. (Pd.)
