Visitation for Myron L. Gravlin, 89, of Metamora, formerly of Clifton, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 5 p.m., at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clifton, where he was a member. The Rev. Vern Arseneau will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Clifton. Memorials may be made to the Central Athletic Boosters. He passed away Friday (Dec. 9, 2011) at Snyder Village in Metamora.
He was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Kankakee, the son of Frank and Ida Mathy Gravlin. He was a member of the Clifton Lions, the Central Athletic Boosters and the Farm Bureau. He was very civic-minded and enjoyed woodworking and high school sports.
Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Mahoney, whom he married Sept. 15, 1945, in Clifton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Diane Gravlin, of Metamora, David and Robin Gravlin, of Granite Bay, Calif., and Gary and Linda Gravlin, of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth; and two great-grandchildren.
