Lester E. Siegrist, 75, of Washington died at 9:50 p.m. Dec. 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was born May 4, 1936, in Peoria to Robert A. and Evelyn Mary Linebaugh Siegrist.
He is survived by his three children, Andrew (Tina) Siegrist of Bartonville, David (Sarah) Siegrist of Kankakee and Beckie Coovert of Oswego; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter Scarlett Arnold.
He is also survived by his brother John (Linda) Siegrist of East Peoria and his sister Susan (Bruce) Evans of Princeville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was raised working in the family furniture business in Peoria, Siegrist Furniture and Appliance. He then worked 35 years for Montgomery Ward in Peoria in service repair. He retired from there in 2001. After retirement he worked for Uftring Auto Group as a courtesy driver.
He was a member of Illinois Valley Wheelman and B&B square-dance club in Creve Coeur.
There will be a funeral service for Lester at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. The Rev. Ken Sistrunk will officiate. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to B&B square-dance club in Creve Coeur.
