Ronald J. "Budda" Billadeau, 70, of St. Anne, died Thursday (Nov. 10, 2011) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Memorials may be made to the Marine Corps League or to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Billadeau retired from Heinz (formerly Quaker and General Foods) after 34 years of service. He was born April 13, 1941, in Kankakee, the son of Charles and Stella Zasada Billadeau. He served in the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963 as a medic. He was commandant of the Marine Corps League, Detachment 1253, and a member of the Aroma Park American Legion Post 1019 and the Veterans Assistance Commission. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Chicago White Sox and the Illini, playing cards and having coffee at McDonalds with his friends and the Marine Corps League.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Fellers Johnson, of St. Anne, whom he married April 28, 1990; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott and Chris Billadeau, of Oak Park, and David Billadeau, of Kankakee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Terry Heinze, of Bradley, and Brenda and Dennis Chartier, of Tavares, Fla.; three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kellan and Olivia; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Duane Billadeau, of Homer Glen, and Steve and Mary Billadeau, of Kankakee.
