James M. "Jim" Raymond - St. George

Visitation for James M. "Jim" Raymond, 68, of St. George, will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. George Catholic Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate.

Burial will be in St. George Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley. He died Thursday (Sept. 18, 2008) at his home.

Mr. Raymond was a farmer and a part-time electrician for Reimer Electric for a number of years. He was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Kankakee, the son of Eugene and Ella Blanchette Raymond. He was a board member for St. George School District and the Farmers Elevator; and a member of the Holy Name Society at his church, where he served as a past president and on the building and finance committees. He was a member of the Bourbonnais Rural Fire Department, where he volunteered for more than 10 years. He liked model trains, loved his farming and spending time with his family, especially family vacations.
