Visitation for Clement Joseph Barry, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of St. Anne, will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home, St. Anne. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church. The Rev. James Fanale will officiate.
Burial will be in St. James the Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Irwin. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 7310 N. 16th St. Suite 230, Phoenix, AZ 85020. He passed away peacefully Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2011) at his home in Mesa.
Mr. Barry worked at the A&P Tea Co., retiring after 36 years of service. He also worked for 20 years at the Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home. He was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Manlius Township, the son of Jeremiah F. III and Josephine O'Brien Barry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, the former Joan T. Youtz, of Mesa, whom he married Sept. 1, 1944; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Jeremiah Barry, of San Diego, Calif., Douglas and Judy Barry, of Canton, Ga., Leo and Jan Barry, of Bourbonnais, Daniel and Patricia Barry, of St. Anne, and Nicholas Barry, of Bourbonnais; three daughters and one son-in-law, Marilyn and Leonard Mulcahy, of Kankakee, Marian Barry, of Mesa, and Bernadette "Barbara" Barry, of San Diego; 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Catherine Linquist, of Santa Clara, Calif., and Joan Clary, of Kewanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Madonna and Mary; and two brothers, Robert and Lawrence.
