Alvin F. "Happy" Mann - Lake Alfred FL

Alvin F. "Happy" Mann, 87, of Lake Alfred, Fla., formerly of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (March 11, 2007) at his home from heart failure. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, Fla. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Haines City, Fla., where he was a member. Rev. Chris Hoffman will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneston Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.

Mr. Mann retired from A.O. Smith Corporation in 1977 after 31 years of service as a tool and die maker. He was born July 13, 1919, in Bourbonnais, the son of Frank and Mary Macier Mann. He moved to Lake Alfred in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4726, where he volunteered working bingo for 25 years; the Winter Haven Moose Lodge; the American Legion Post 8, Winter Haven; and the International Machinist's Association.
