Margaret A. Hustedt - Edina MN

     Margaret A. Hustedt, 88, of Edina, Minn., formerly of Watseka, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 8, 2010) at Heritage of Edina in Edina, Minn.
     She was born July 26, 1922, in Hudson, Ill., the daughter of Oscar and Hattie M. Hitch Stotler. In 1946 she served her country as a civilian employee of the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., where she met Paul Hustedt, a military policeman in the U.S. Army. On March 16, 1947, she married Paul John Hustedt in Hudson. He passed away Aug. 1, 2005, in Watseka.
     Mrs. Hustedt was a retired farmer and housewife. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka, and a volunteer for both Iroquois Memorial Hospital and the elections at the polling locations. She enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching birds, and baking, which she won grand champion prize for her divinity candy and first prize for her angel food cake at the Iroquois County Fair.
     Surviving Mrs. Hustedt are two sons, Bruce Hustedt, of Prescott, Ariz., and David Hustedt, of Yale, Okla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Stephen Zipf, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Stotler, of Hudson, and Lucille Vogel, of Cissna Park; one brother-in-law, Harry Hustedt, of Antioch, Calif.; two grandsons, Matthew Zipf and Joshua Zipf, both of Roseville, Minn; and many nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, and two brothers.
     Visitation for Mrs. Hustedt will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka, and from 10 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka, until the 11 a.m. funeral services. Pastor Kevin Garner will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka. Memorials in Mrs. Hustedt's name may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka.
